Did you know that February is CHD (Congenital Heart Disease) awareness month? I have had two nephews with CHD. My oldest nephew, now 16, had life-saving surgery at only 2 years old. My youngest nephew, now 8 months old, was born with a scary-large VSD that (miraculously) healed completely on its own when he was around 5 months old. How awesome, and fortunate, is that?!
In honor of CHD Awareness, a Michigan photographer started the #paperheartproject on Instagram, where thousands of other photographers are posting images of their children holding or decorating with paper hearts. It’s an amazing campaign, and I’m more than happy to be a part of it.
Here are 10 images with our little paper hearts:
If you’re interested in participating in this awesome campaign, cut out some paper hearts with your kids, take a photo and post it on Instagram with the hashtag #paperheartproject. And hey, your pets can get in on it too (haha)!
This blog post is a part of a really fun photographer circle, where we each post 10 images on the 10th of the month. Next up in the circle is Anna Hurley of Chilliwack, BC!
