Meghan’s Beauty for Ashes Project

A lot of you already know about this endeavor. I spoke about it in my announcement video, I have a special spot for it in my website, and I wrote about it in my Christmas letters to my clients (when I was still Meghan Endahl Photography) this past December.

I can’t emphasize enough how important this project is, or how much I want to make this happen for families all over Michigan, and wherever else the journey takes us. For those of you who are just hearing about (or seeing) this for the first time, here’s what’s going on…

I’m offering free documentary sessions for:

Families enduring pediatric (or any) cancer (2-4 hours)

These sessions are specifically focused on connection, strength and love. Though all my sessions capture those elements, there is a much-needed emphasis of them within a family who must endure the battle with cancer. The sessions will document every moment during our time together, smiles and tears, comfort and fear. They can include anything from chemo treatments to time at home with family. I want the photographs to lift up their subjects, to acknowledge the painful journey while also turning it into something beautiful.

Families enduring chronic illness or NICU/PICU stays (30 minutes to 2 hours)

These are nearly identical to my cancer sessions, though will most likely have to take place entirely in the hospital environment. Though there might be less opportunity for a truly documentary experience, our time together will still focus on connection, strength and love. For specifically NICU sessions, there will be limited guided posing for the parents and their babies within the boundaries of monitors and feeding tubes. For older children, I will document everything I can during our time together, whether we are in the hospital or at home.

End of Life Celebrations

These are a very unique type of session, but something I hope would provide some amazing memories of a loved one among family and friends before they pass.

Serving adoptive families in celebration of their adoption ceremony (2-8 hours)

The day of an adoption ceremony, when children are officially declared members of their new family, is one of the most joyful experiences a family can have and it deserves to be documented from start to finish. I will offer to capture the entire day, from preparation to celebration, but most importantly the finalization in the courtroom.

If you’re interested in any of these sessions, please, please contact me! My email is, or you can fill out the contact form on my website.¬†Thank you!
